We hired Fireward this past spring to fire smart the property at our home in Bragg Creek and couldn't be happier with the results. Our property had a lot of growth that was crowded together, and close to structures including our house. Kurt came out and had a walk around with us to review the property. He listened to our ideas and concerns, and asked us what we wanted the property to look like when he was done.
It quickly became obvious to us that we needed Kurt's expertise more that we thought. He took the time to explain the need of removing some of the older growth that had either been diseased or was rotting from the inside out, and educated us thoroughly on fire smarting the property.
Kurt marked out the trees that were necessary to remove and made an effort to incorporate our vision of the property into the fire smarting plan. The planning was meticulously thought out and explained to us clearly at a second walk around. From felling bigger trees to removing smaller underbrush, the result was better than we could have imagined it.
Fireward started and completed the project when they said they would, and left no damage or mess to the property once completed. The tree branches were cleaned up and piled daily and they removed the saw dust and chainsaw chips from the areas where the cutting was being done. We requested that some of the wood be cut and left for firewood and they even took the time to cord it nicely in the yard, something we did not expect. We received the project invoice for the same amount that was quoted.
Our overall experience was beyond excellent and exceeded our expectations. Kurt's knowledge of fire smarting, felling and removal is incredibly extensive. His attention to detail and safety in unparalleled. We now have piece of mind and safety for our property. We highly recommend using Fireward and we are very happy with the results of our project.
